Canadian U18 ITF Event - 2007
Stanley Park, Vancouver July 14 - Vasek Pospisil of Vernon, BC, above,
posing with his father and coach Milos. Vasek beat Philip Law of
Alberta, 6-1, 6-2, to win the Boys' 18 Singles title. Sixteen-year-old Vasek
is 70th
in the ITF world rankings and trains in Europe.

beat Trudie Du Toit of Abbotsford, second photo, winner of the last yea's
event, 6-2, 6-2, to win the Girls' 18 Singles title.

In other news Carl Ho, last week's winner of
BC Junior
Provincial Championships, lost to Philip Law, the runner up, in the first
round of the tournament, 2-6, 6-2, 6-2 and Stefi Gjine lost to
Rebecca Marino in the semis, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3.Phill Nemec of Calgary, winner of the
last year's event, lost
to Simon Janik in quarters, 2-6, 6-4Ret (inj). Phill, a top seed of
Boys' 18 Doubles, also had to pull out of finals due to injury, giving Janik
/ Lee-Daigle the Doubles title. |
