West Vancouver Senior Open 2007
West Vancouver Tennis Club, in conjunction with the District of West Vancouver, hosted the West Vancouver Senior Open, August 13-18. The event, a warm-up for the Senior Nationals in Vancouver the following week, attracted over 150 players.
Brian Lam, above, competing in the Men's 45 Singles category, was the tournament’s player of the week. Unseeded Brian beat top seed Tom Feakins, 4-6, 6-1, 6-2, in the second round; fifth seed Dave Blackstone, 6-3, 6-2, in the semis; and over came the second seed Steven Yesowick
7-6, 6-1, in the final to capture the Men's 45 Singles title. Brian
doesn't belong to any tennis club; he plays at public
courts. He is a marathon runner, clocking 13 to 20 miles each Sundays.

Tom later teamed up with
Zdeno Rusnak in the Men's 35 Doubles' final, but lost to the pair of Dave DeFehr and Chris Stead,
7-5, 7-5.
