Odlum Brown (WTA) Open Results - Vancouver, August 15,

And the winner is: unseeded-fifteen year-old Nicole Vaidisova of the
Czech Republic, overcoming fourth-seeded American Laura Granville 2-6 6-4 6-2.
This is her first ever WTA Tour title.
Vaidisova defeated third-seeded Alina Jidkova, of Russia, 7-5, 3-6, 6-4, and Granville
ousted unseeded Camille Pin, of France, 7-6
(7-5), 4-6, 6-4, in their semi-finals the previous day.
Bethane
Mattek and Abigail Spears of the USA won the doubles event 6-2, 6-3.
The Jericho Tennis Club did their usual
accomplished job of hosting the tournament. Lots of tennis enthusiasts came
to watch and enjoy the games. A few drops of rain and some injuries did not affect
matches.
Thanks to everyone involved in the event for making it such a success. We are already
looking forward to next year.
